What is QbCheck?
QbCheck is an FDA-cleared, computerized objective ADHD assessment from Qbtech. It uses a screen-based task and motor-activity measurement to provide data about three core ADHD symptom areas.
Important: QbCheck supports clinical decision-making; it does not diagnose ADHD by itself. Your clinician interprets it alongside the interview, history, rating scales, functioning, and other relevant information.

Psychiatric ADHD evaluation vs. neuropsychological testing.
These are different services with different purposes. A focused psychiatric evaluation may be appropriate when the main question is ADHD diagnosis and treatment planning. A full neuropsychological evaluation may be recommended when the referral question is broader or more complex.

The private-pay pathway begins with a required $450 initial psychiatric evaluation, followed by a separate $300 ADHD-focused evaluation. Mind Over Matter's professional fees total $750. Qbtech currently charges $120 directly for QbCheck, making the expected combined total $870. Qbtech controls its price and refund terms.
Can I schedule the ADHD-focused evaluation as my first visit?
No. New private-pay patients first complete the comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Please tell us before booking that ADHD evaluation is one of your goals so we can explain the process and schedule the correct pathway.
Is QbCheck the same as QbTest?
They are related Qbtech platforms. Qbtech describes QbCheck as its newer, equivalent assessment platform with greater flexibility and no dedicated hardware dependency. QbCheck can support both remote and in-clinic workflows.
Can QbCheck diagnose ADHD by itself?
No. QbCheck provides objective measures related to attention, impulsivity, and activity. ADHD diagnosis requires clinical evaluation of symptoms, history, functional impairment, alternative explanations, and other relevant information.
Does insurance cover an ADHD evaluation?
Coverage depends on the patient's plan, network status, medical necessity, authorization rules, and the services billed. Covered in-network professional visits use the insurance pathway, and patient responsibility is determined by the plan's Explanation of Benefits. Contact us before scheduling so we can direct you appropriately.
Does an ADHD diagnosis guarantee stimulant medication?
No. Diagnosis does not guarantee a stimulant or any specific medication. Treatment recommendations depend on clinical appropriateness, medical history, safety considerations, prescribing standards, and the clinician's professional judgment.
Is this the same as a full neuropsychological evaluation?
No. Our pathway is a psychiatric ADHD evaluation supported by standardized forms and objective testing. It does not replace comprehensive neuropsychological testing when cognitive, learning, memory, academic, disability-documentation, or other complex questions require broader assessment.
Do you evaluate adolescents as well as adults?
Adolescents may be evaluated when clinically appropriate. A parent or legal guardian must participate in consent and financial acknowledgment, and collateral information may be requested. Tell us the patient's age when you contact the practice.
